This is a place for me to spread out my thoughts on yoga, films, books, music, daily life, school, and whatever else comes to mind. I’m a yoga teacher (as well as a student) so I occasionally talk about classes and/or teaching.
Yoga has been great for me and if I can share even a little bit of that positive change with others, I think the world will be a better place.
I watch TV. Probably too much TV. But I like to think that I balance it out with reading a lot of books and walking my dog. I love sci-fi/fantasy and watch cheesy horror movies like it’s my job. I prefer action movies to musicals and even own a Bruce Willis CD. Yes. He recorded music. And I bought some.
Hopelessly hooked on crime drama of any kind, impolite humor (Grandma’s Boy, Super Troopers), 19th century French lit, and anything written by Robin McKinley or Carol O’Connell. I don’t like heights but I LOVE roller coasters. I occasionally use foul language (my mother would say “too often”).
I abuse parentheses and the em dash. I was an English major, so I know which punctuation marks I’m using incorrectly and have decided that I’m going to anyhow. My pet peeves include (according to Mrs. Lemanski, my ninth grade AP English teacher) “barbarisms”. “They’re called barbarisms because when you use them incorrectly, you look like a barbarian.” Included: your/you’re, too/to/two, there/their/they’re and otherwise kidnapping and torture of the apostrophe.
My least favorite household chore is laundry because there are too many steps.
I love (and do yoga to) all kinds of music – from zen electronica and chant to 70s soul, 80s hair bands, classic rock, metal, and hip-hop.
I think that anything you do stops being fun if you take it too seriously.
